The Boiling Lake is one of the most prominent attractions on the island. The lake is a large, flooded fumarole, resulting from volcanic activity beneath the surface. It is characterized by its constantly boiling or steaming water, giving it its name.
The hike to the Boiling Lake typically takes six to seven hours and includes a captivating passage through the Valley of Desolation, and a swim at TiTou Gorge at the end of the hike.
